2010 Line Up
The Sunnyside Music Fest is back again, with an all-star line up. On September 11th, from 10 am to 8 pm the following bands will take the stage: (With the addition of the Battle of the Bands winner!)
Paper Bird
When asked what genre of music Paper Bird plays, they answer “joyful.” The seven-piece band consists of three female singers, accompanied by banjo, guitar, stand-up bass and trombone. Featured on NPR’s All Things Considered they were voted in the Top 10 Best Underground Bands by Denver Post two years in a row, as well as 5280’s Top of the Town 2009 “Top Local Band.”

Mollie O’Brien and Rich Moore
"Mollie O'Brien and Rich Moore are two national musical treasures," says legendary rocker Dave Alvin. "They are truly … keeping American music alive and vital." In addition to sharring a Grammy with a stellar bunch of bluegrass collaborators, she has also sung numerous times with Garrison Keillor and Robin and Linda Williams as the Hopeful Gospel Quartet. Earning rave notices for powerhouse performances, she has performed at major festivals in the U.S. the UK, Europe, and South America. Rich has played in songwriter Celeste Krenz’s band with members of the on hiatus Subdudes, as well as Judy Roderick, and with Pete Wernick’s Live Five. Their new album Saints & Sinners will be out in September.

Dyrty Byrds
This a Denver-based “supergroup” featuring a who's who of musicians from both the Georgia and Colorado Music. Its members include Sam Holt who filled in on lead guitar for touring giants Widespread Panic during the summer of 2006.

This group first hit the stage together in Nov, 2003. Since then, they have been laying it down all over town. This funk/jazz/rock septet serves up a funkinetic frenzy of fresh, original, mind moving music; reminiscent of such groove giants as Soulive, Greyboy Allstars, and Deep Banana Blackout. They’ve been nominated in The Westword's, "Best Of" funk category in both 2008 & 2009.

Widely regarded as one of Denver's best singer-songwriters, Denver native Novak has been a staple of the Denver indie music scene since 2003. Novak, a self taught musician, is backed by solid group of Denver musicians who include: John Rasmussen, bass; Nate Marcy, electric guitar; Tiffany Meese, keyboard, backing vocals.

The Legendary River Drifters
This seven-member outfit uses a wide array of instruments utilizing traditional Americana instruments such as the harmonica, mandolin and banjo - but also a washboard, the saw, and even spoons to create their unique version of “old-timey rock n' roll”. Singer-saw player Suzanne Magnuson has been compared to “a feistier Emmylou Harris”.

Named Best Hip Hip in Colorado for 2007, 2008 and 2009 by the Westword, the Pirate Signal has become one of Denver’s most celebrated hip-hop acts, and with their May 2010 release of “No Weak Heart Shall Prosper” and the immense amount of critical acclaim that has followed, the band may be poised to burst onto the national music scene.

Indomables Musical
Formed in January 2008 in Denver, Colorado, Indomables Musical is a very fresh band with members between the ages of 13 and 23. Combining a unique style of Duranguense,Cumbia, and other styles that are not part of the Regional Mexican genre. They ave performed along with known bands like El Guero Y Su Banda El Centenario, Grupo Control, Los Rehenes, Banda Laberinto, and many more. Indomables Musical has recently released their first full album named "Gracias Por Tu Abandono".

When a group of high school student-musicians share their love of
music, the legends come back to life. Ranging from Dr. John to Prince,
Otis Redding to Sly and the Family Stone, the Kent Denver Rhythm &
Blues Ensemble plays the classics with enthusiasm and attitude. Along
with passion, the ensemble also has the credentials of a serious group
of musicians. Not only have individual members received recognition on
both the state and national levels, but the band was recently named the
Best High School Blues/Pop/Rock Group in the country by Downbeat
Magazine, the "bible" of soul and jazz. They repeated that feat again in
2009, and again in 2010.
